Today I went to the property manager’s office and asked what’s going on with the pool being closed? She told me that someone broke the aluminum hook that is used to pull someone out of the pool as a lifesaving tool, so they had to close the pool.
What???
That hook tool probably cost all of $20 at the local marina and someone could have easily bought one Saturday morning so the pool would be open to the residents.
But the property manager said that they left it closed to “teach the perpetrators a lesson.” Well, I flipped out. I am paying rent for the use of the facilities and to close the pool on a hot weekend becasue some teens got destructive and broke a $20 tool is absurd.
Yesterday I was looking forward to coming home, changing into my suit, and spending a couple of hours cooling off by the pool sipping on a pina colada. It has been a hot and sticky week and I just needed to decompress for a bit.
But when I got home and put on my suit, I walked up to an empty pool and found a sign taped to the gate saying that the pool and hot tub are closed this weekend. There was no reason given. I’m so aggravated! A big part of why I live here and pay rent every month is so that I can use the pool and other facilities. I wonder what is wrong that they had to close the pool?
Found a very cool web site that knows where the space station is and relates that to where you are. So if you go to that site, heavens-above.com, and tell them where you are, they give you a map and chart so you know when to go outside and look for the space station to go overhead.
I found the map for my house and it will be overhead in about 20 minutes, so I’ll be outside looking to the stars. I think that will be so cool.
My dentist had recommend that I start using an electric toothbrush. There are only a couple different brands for sale locally, so I checked them out. The electric ones seem awfully expensive and I’m not convinced that I should spend the extra money right now.
There was a commercial on TV last night for a new toothbrush by Sonic that is battery operated. I haven’t see than one in the stores yet, but it is not too expensive I might give that one a try.
Tonight we are going to watch the local baseball team play. Our team is in the Triple A League and is called the farm team for the Milwaukee Brewers. So we have the opportunity to watch future baseball stars play.
I love to eat hot dogs at baseball games. That is probably the only time that I look forward to eating hot dogs. If the bleacher seats are in the full sun, I like an ice cold beer, too.
Tonight, after the game they will be shooting off fireworks. I hope our team wins and that the fireworks add to the celebration.
