The first day of March and I think the groundhog was right. We are going to have an early Spring! The official start of Spring is not until the 20th, but it is already nice and warm. I really think that the weather will stay warm and that winter is behind us. We had a lot of snow and a couple of nights with ice, but it was so bitter cold! My heating bill has been crazy high due to the extreme winter. I can’t wait to turn off the heat and throw open the windows for some fresh air! As soon as the temperatures get above 60 degrees for a couple of days, I can turn off the furnace and save some money for a month or two before I need to turn on the air conditioning.

Today I am sick with a bad cough and probably infected sinuses, so I called out from work and am taking Nyquil to try to fend off this flu or whatever is making me sick. I am bored out of my mind with daytime TV. The game shows and the soap operas have never interested me at all. Thankfully, channel 4 is showing the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Today is curling, and I’m watching a match between Canada and the USA, alongside a match between Team Norway and someone else. The announcers are not talking about the Norway match during this broadcast, but I can see the teams playing on the adjacent curling alley. It is actually more interesting than I expected.

Are you celebrating Valentine’s Day today? Did you get flowers or candy? I love chocolates, but I admit I am a bit of a snob about chocolates – they must be GOOD chocolates. Like Godiva chocolates. So if you are thinking about getting me a gift for Valentine’s Day, here’s your hint: Godiva chocolates or just stick with roses – you can never go wrong with roses. Any color, any number. LOL!

The Saints played their best game tonight and won the Super Bowl! I loved watching them play so well. They had 3 awesome touchdowns and lots of smaller plays that ended up winning the game for them against the Colts. Way to Geaux, Saints! Who Dat!?!?

“How’s that hopey, changing stuff workin’ out for ya?” Sarah Palin asked the approximately 1,000 tea party supporters attending the first national convention in Nashville tonight. Attendees paid $300 each to attend her keynote speech and dinner, which included lobster as a main course.
I will have to learn more about the tea party movement. It sounds interesting, seeing that Obama has accomplished very little of what he promised while campaigning.
